New Conditioner Wash on the Block just for us Curlies!

Recently I was sent the new CURL-CO WASH by Ouidad. They had contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying out their new product and providing an honest review. I am highly honored to be testing this product and reviewing for you!

The first thing you notice with this CURL-CO WASH is it's lovely smell! It is an amber floral scent. Nothing chemical or menthol or anything like that. It smells like a fragrance you might buy at Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret. The scent carries on your hair as well for quite some time.

The directions say to section your hair into 4 sections and apply 3-8 pumps to each section. I sectioned my hair and applied 5 pumps to each section, but my hair is waist length, and I didn't feel it was enough, so I did use an extra 10 pumps on the length. Now this does sound like a lot if you are use to using other Conditioner Washes, but the pump does not dispense a lot at one time, so in essence you are really using less than, say, compared to WEN.

I then combed through and found that it has very nice slip and detangled my hair nicely. I left it in for the remainder of my shower. Before rinsing I added a bit of water and massaged in. It rinsed out extremely easy, without tangling my hair.

I styled my hair using only my normal gel, I left out all of my anti-frizzing products to see how well this would perform.  After air drying I have healthy, soft, bouncy curls, that are well defined, no frizz! YAY!

I feel this does clean better than other Conditioner Washes I have used, I can feel my scalp is actually clean, as if I used shampoo. Other Conditioner washes either left my hair greasy or they did work but required so much rinsing and repeating it is way too time consuming to use daily. Ouidad definitely leaves my scalp and hair feeling cleaner than WEN. I think I may have found a new staple to add to my rotation. The only negative is that it is very expensive @ $30.00 for 16oz. If you have wavy or curly hair, or even straight hair and it is within your budget, it's something worth checking out!

Ouidad does not contain Menthol, Sulfate, Silicones, or Parabens.

Bare Minerals Ready Foundation is Here!

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my BE Ready Foundation! It is finally here!
Normally I wear BE loose Foundation in Medium, and Medium Beige for reference.

First Impressions-
The Medium Ready Compact is slightly lighter in color than the loose version, but not by much, and it has less pink, which I believe is a good thing, for me anyways.
The loose version of Medium Beige is slightly dark on my skin, the pressed is a better match!

Medium gives a porcelain look to skin and covers Red very well. Medium Beige gives a warmer tone to skin, I didn't find it covered Red as well as the Medium though, but I will be keeping both!

I think you will be fine if you order your normal color.

The finish to me is a nice soft matte, not a dry matte. No shimmer or sparkle, but at the same time it's not a powdery looking nightmare either.

I will update on longevity of wear soon! Stay tuned!

Medium is on the Left, Medium Beige on the Right

Let's not forget about the Uber Awesome Brush! Super Soft and picks up the color oh so easy peasy! No shedding in sight upon first use.

Are you thinking of getting this? Already have it? Post a comment and let us know!

Check out my YouTube Video too! I compare loose color to the Pressed for you!

BareMinerals to Launch Solid Foundation

How do you feel about a Pressed Version of Bare Escentuals Foundation?

Will you be trying it out?

Armed with a new tag line, “We Don’t Like Using the F-Word,” Bare Escentuals is looking to get consumers on solid ground with the introduction of its first pressed foundation.

Launching in September, BareMinerals Ready SPF 20 Foundation is a solid sea mineral-enriched formula designed to provide natural coverage and antiaging benefits.

“Leslie [Blodgett, Bare Escentuals founder and executive chairman] has always been frustrated by using the word ‘foundation,’” said Elizabeth Lamont, vice president of marketing. “It can be cakey and clog pores. This doesn’t look or act like foundation. It’s makeup that acts like skin care.”

At play in the formula is a cold-pressed oil technology, which binds the powder without the aid of talc or fillers. The brand’s proprietary SeaNutrive Mineral Complex, a concentrated blend of algae and seaweed, as well as vitamins A, C and E, are included to enhance cell turnover and provide a healthy looking complexion. “Solid mineral [powders] are different than what [our consumer] is seeing in the marketplace,” said Lamont. “It looks like a powder but feels like a cream.”

In addition, a time-released moisturizing technology delivers mineral-encapsulated glycerin and humic acid throughout the day to hydrate skin. The product is “clinically proven to firm skin,” noted Lamont.

BareMinerals’ full breadth of 20 classic loose shades — from fair to warm deep — in original and matte variations, will be offered in the new Ready format, which has a “natural” finish. (Original imparts a “naturally luminous” effect, while Matte’s is “naturally matte.”)

“We listen to our customer first and foremost and she is very vocal,” said Lamont. “She asked for products that are convenient. She wants her product wherever she goes and solid form is preferred for portability.”

Although the company declined to share sales figures, industry sources believe the collection could generate $50 to $100 million at retail in its first year.

Coinciding with the launch will be the introduction of the Precision Face Brush, which will be offered in classic and retractable iterations ($28 and $22, respectively).

“The formula gives as much coverage as you like depending on which brush as you use,” said Lamont.

With a history of loose powder formulas, BareMinerals entered pressed-powder territory with the launch of Ready Eyeshadow in September 2011. The company followed up with solid-form bronzers and blushes in March.

In order to market Ready Foundation, BareMinerals will launch a new ad campaign featuring its most recent catchphrase in October and November magazines. The brand has also partnered with Ulta to promote Ready, which will be featured in the retailer’s monthly “prestige magazine,” marking the first color cosmetics sample offered in its pages. Ready will also be highlighted in a Macy’s direct mailer (with a sample) as well as during Sephora’s October Hot Now promotion. “We plan to distribute four million samples throughout September to November,” said Lamont.

Also in October, Bare Escentuals boutiques will provide 50,000 customers “foundation fittings,” where they can be shade-matched and given a makeup application.

The product’s official debut will be on QVC on Aug. 15, with a follow-up show on Aug. 25, featuring Blodgett and a QVC-exclusive silver compact with matching brush.

“There is a certain energy and buzz that travels through the airwaves when Leslie comes on to explain her products,” said Lamont.

Come Sept. 1, Ready SPF 20 Foundation, $29, will be available at retailers like Sephora
Ulta, Macy’s, Dillard’s and Nordstrom, Bare Escentuals boutiques and bareminerals.com.

“This is our biggest launch ever and our partners are as [pleased] as we are,” said Lamont.

Scruffy Chops- A Dog has to look good too!

A few weeks back I was contacted by Scruffy Chops to do a review on their Dog shampoo and conditioner. While not beauty related to me, it is beauty related to my dog, so I thought- Hey! Why not? A dog's gotta look good to! We received the package and Chewy, while not the fan of a bath or anything to do with water, was kinda excited when I told him the package was for him. Now he probably was hoping for snacks, but he was content with a new Shampoo and Conditioner!

Rhubarking Mad

Dog Shampoo: Aqua, Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Avina Sativa (Oatmeal) Extract*, Maris (Dead Sea) Sal, Xanthum Gum, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Glyceryl Oleate, Stearyl Citrate, Parfum (allergen free), Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Coco Glucoside. *Organic

Muddy Marvellous

Dog Conditioner: Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Avina Sativa (Oatmeal) Extract*, Maris (Dead Sea) Sal, Maris (Dead Sea) Limus, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Cetrimonium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum (allergen free), Citric Acid. *Organic

Mission Statement Direct from the Scruffy Chops website:
To create, distribute and sell the highest quality natural dog shampoos and other such splendid products that always benefit your dogs mind, body or soul. With a continued commitment to source and incorporate natural, wholesome ingredients while keeping our products innovative and fun and to have a great time doing it!

With all of the bad things we keep hearing about Dog products making our little pals ill, I am glad that Scruffy Chops uses 98% Organic and natural ingredients PH balanced for a dogs skin and coat.
Now for the Nitty Gritty!

First the shampoo!!
The Shampoo was a nice consistency and lathered up nice!  It had a fruity vanilla scent. It was a very full thick lather and a little went a long way! I could already tell this was far superior to my current big box Pet store Shampoo I was currently using.

Rinsing was easy but did take a bit longer than normal due to the thickness and consistency of the rich lather!

I've never used a conditioner before so this was a new experience for both Chewy and I! It was a nice thick conditioner with a Vanilla type scent. It rubbed in well and rinsed out clean leaving no visible or tactile residue.

At the end I would have to say this is a Very good Dog Shampoo and Conditioner that is non irritating. Chewy has some scratching issues and this seemed to have lessened the amount of scratching, though not completely eliminating it.  When Chewy gets stinky he starts to smell like Fritos, LOL. Scruffy Chops has kept the Frito smell at bay longer than his normal shampoo, and has left his coat soft and shiny with an almost fuller feel. I am looking forward to using this again for Chewy's next bath! Thanks Scruffy Chops for offering this to us for review! We are going to spread the Love and let others know of this great replacement for your regular Dog Shampoo and Conditioner!  You can read more about Scruffy Chops on their website!
http://scruffychops.com/, they ship internationally!

Chewy says A+

We just got a new addition! Say hello to Milo! He is looking forward to his 1st Bath with Scruffy Chops soon!

Good News! Copied from the Urban Decay Website.

UD Decides Not to Sell in China

After careful consideration of many issues, we have decided not to start selling Urban Decay products in China. While several factors were important in reaching this decision, ultimately we did not feel we could comply with current regulations in China and remain true to our core principles. We know there are many progressive consumers in China who would embrace an opportunity to purchase non-animal tested products - our hope remains that we have the chance to offer Urban Decay products to these consumers someday in the future.

Following our initial announcement, we realized that we needed to step back, carefully review our original plan, and talk to a number of individuals and organizations that were interested in our decision. We regret that we were unable to respond immediately to many of the questions we received, and appreciate the patience our customers have shown as we worked through this difficult issue.

Since our founding in 1996, we have been committed to ending animal testing in the cosmetics industry. As demonstrated by the renewed support we have received from organizations like PETA and the CCIC, this principle remains at our core. Urban Decay does not test its finished products on animals, nor do we allow others to test on our behalf, and we require our suppliers to certify that the raw materials used in the manufacture of our products are not tested on animals. Urban Decay is proud to be 100% cruelty-free.

If you have additional questions, please email us at info@urbandecay.com.

~I LOVE MUJI~

Yes, So I am running around the house singing " I love Muji....... I love Muji" to the "I Want Candy" song. Needless to say I am getting extremely strange looks from both the Man and the Dog!
Well If they knew what a Muji Drawer was and how it would make you into an organizational Wizard, they'd be singing too! (OK maybe not, I'm just Weird)
Today the FedEx truck came Super early, he must have known I was anxiously awaiting his arrival.
I received my 3 Muji acrylic drawer sets today, 1 five drawer which are the smaller depth drawers, and  Two 2 drawers which are a little deeper.
Here  are some unboxing pics, these things are packed better than anything I have ever ordered from anywhere! Seriously! They take pride in their shipping and want to make sure you get your items in perfect condition!

There they are all taped up in their protective Bubble Wrap which took me FOREVER to get off!!!

And here they are all unwrapped in their Muji nakedness, ready to be filled with all of my Goodies! Five drawer set on the bottom and both Two drawer sets on top. I should have taken a pic of the bottom, as they do have these little feet to stop them from sliding around on your table or when they are stacked.
And now, Drumroll please.......................................................

Totally Awesome Right?

For their size you can fit a pretty decent amount in them, I think they are Awesome! some things in the larger drawers you can stack like MAC lipsticks, in the smaller drawers I was able to stack some Stila Optic Lipglosses. Now granted this is no where near my full makeup collection, but these drawers do a world of wonders organizing your most currently used items! I think I am goin to purchase another 2 drawer set for this stack which is right by my makeup mirror, and maybe pick some more up to go on top of my Ikea Chest of Drawers which I really have to go through and get rid of a lot of stuff I don't use anymore.

Over all these are a great investment and will save you some sanity trying to find something in a sea of makeup all jammed up in a drawer or basket! Plus they are reasonably priced, not like that crazy Clear Cube I keep reading about!!

Check them out on Muji's website @
www.muji.us

Check back often, I plan on getting some vids up on this soon!

If you have these drawers let me know how many are in your set up! If you are planning on getting them what will your set up consist of?   If you think there cool beans leave a comment as well!

As promised here is the video review:
